This hand embroidered cushion covers, are crafted by the Toda community, a pastoral tribe living in the hills of Nilgiris. The embroidery known as "pukhoor" is certified GI, has a fine woven finish and is an art by itself. The embroidery is distinctive as it is based on thread count unlike modern embroideries based on set patterns and designs. The reverse side of this piece of art is equally beautiful with no signs of hanging threads or knots.
